Do I need to be perfectly healthy to fly in space?

The main problems during space flight are considered motion sickness, fatigue, dehydration, loss of appetite and back pain

The astronauts can perform on the International space station not more than six months. And for good reason.

The loss of muscle and bone mass in zero gravity during this time is so great that the continued presence in space for humans is not possible.

Future space tourists will not go through the same tough training as cosmonauts and astronauts – how flying can affect their health?

In an article published by the British medical journal, argues that the district doctors in British clinics need to be prepared for the fact that in the near future, their patients will begin to wonder whether their body to move space travel.

Only a handful of doctors have sufficient knowledge in the field of space medicine to give expert advice. Continue reading

Martian Chronicles

“It is good to wonder, said the philosopher. Space travel has again made children of us all”.

To be very brief and concise, that I sometimes even work, then advise, as it is a brilliant creation that deserves repeated reading.

To be a little chatty, and allow yourself to speculate about the book, we can’t help but notice, what I like about it, absolutely everything – from the atmosphere of the text, the storyline in General and how it builds up the narrative of the book. Yes. This is not a novel, or solid piece. The story is built through short stories related to each other not how much the main characters, and how the very idea that revolves around the red planet, Mars.

But she’s great as written. As these stories fascinate the imagination. How bright the picture turns out before my eyes. if you’re in the rocket, which is sent to a dark and unknown planet Mars.

I don’t want to be objective, but from me not require, right? After all, I write a review. And feedback means transfer THEIR feelings and experiences. So I couldn’t understand people who wrote negative reviews about a boring story. I can’t understand my friends who believe this book is one of the weakest ideas of the author. Continue reading

Through thorns to the stars

Much does it cost to fly in space?

Previously the space was the subject of dreams and the destiny of only the elect, now to experience weightlessness or take a journey to the stars almost everyone can have money. To replace professional the orbit space tourism comes. Those wishing to become astronauts does not scare nor a long period of preflight preparation or high risk, so every year this extreme form of recreation is becoming increasingly popular .

Weightlessness for all

The “budget” option space tourism is a program of suborbital flights, in which the ship goes into orbit, the aircraft goes to higher altitude (about 100 km), which is a while, and then falls down, whereby passengers can enjoy all the delights of weightlessness.

Suborbital flights is the near future of space tourism, says academician of the Russian Academy of cosmonautics named after K. E. Tsiolkovsky Alexander Zheleznyakov. According to him, now several companies (Space Adventures, Another day universe and Virgin Galactic – ed.) are developing aircraft with such a dynamics that one can say that in 2014 will begin to be more or less regular flights.
